The product
Tara is an audio wellness app from Dr. Tara: meditations, guided sessions, and audio stories for adults, with a playful position roulette alongside. It is live right now at trytara.tech, running on real infrastructure with real accounts. Every screenshot on this page comes from the working product, and every screen described below is one you can open today.
Before anyone sees a single screen, Tara asks one question. A full screen interstitial confirms the visitor is 18 or older, with soft duotone art and a clear way out for anyone who arrived by mistake. The answer is remembered on that device, and once the member signs in the confirmation is echoed to the server so it travels with the account.

There are no passwords to invent or forget. A member types their email, receives a six digit code from hello@trytara.tech, and enters it to come inside. They can ask for a fresh code or switch to a different address without starting over. A quiet Google option sits below for staff accounts. The whole flow has been verified end to end on the live site today.

First visit only: pick a username.
After the first sign in, Tara asks one gentle question: what should we call you? The member picks a username, learns that it stays between them and Tara, and steps straight into the library. Anyone who already has a name skips this screen entirely, and the name can be changed any time in settings.
The library is the heart of the app. A banner invites you to take an hour for yourself, and the shelf below holds every published session as a square cover with its title, category, and length. Filters narrow the view to Meditations, Guided, or Erotica. Free sessions wear a small Free badge and premium sessions wear a lock, so the shape of the offer is visible at a glance. Ten seeded tracks fill the shelf today so every state is real.

Filtered to one category.
Tap any session and a persistent player appears and follows you through the whole portal. It offers play, pause, scrubbing, and fifteen second skips, and it registers with your phone lock screen so artwork and controls show up there too. If a secure streaming link expires mid session, the player quietly fetches a new one and resumes at the same second. Playback simply continues, and nobody has to think about why.

Free members can play any free session in full. When they tap a premium session they hear its preview clip, and if no preview exists they land on the subscribe page. That page presents Tara Premium with a short benefits list and one clear button, and monthly and yearly options appear the moment pricing is set. Until Stripe keys are added it says pricing is being finalized, so nothing can be bought by accident. Once billing is live, members manage cards, invoices, and cancellation from a billing page in settings.

Roulette is the playful corner of the app. It opens on the position of the day, and a press of Try another deals a fresh pick that never repeats the one already on screen. Each card pairs tasteful silhouette art with the position name, a difficulty shown as one to three dots, and a short description in plain warm language. Ten positions are seeded and ready for launch.

Settings stays simple and personal. A member can upload an avatar that stays inside their account, change the username Tara greets them with, and check their membership at a glance, with a Manage billing button that opens the payment portal once billing is live. At the bottom sits account deletion behind a second confirmation, because leaving should be as easy as arriving.

Behind /admin lives a private studio for running the whole product. It opens only for staff email domains and fails closed for everyone else, so a member can never wander in. Five rooms cover the daily work.
The listening numbers on the overview come from real playback events recorded by the app, and the membership numbers come straight from the subscription records, so the dashboard tells the truth from day one.

Some of the best work here is invisible. These four pieces matter most.
Full sessions never stream from a public link. Every full listen flows through a signed token that expires within minutes, so a copied link goes stale almost immediately and the raw files stay private.
Every play, milestone, and completion lands in PostHog and in the database that powers the admin overview, so the numbers Tara sees are the numbers that happened.
The complete Stripe flow is already written: checkout, webhooks, the customer portal, and comps. It wakes up the moment keys are added.
Every push to main builds and deploys to trytara.tech automatically, so shipping an improvement is one commit away.
This build is a finished foundation, and a few things were left open on purpose because they deserve real decisions rather than placeholder guesses. Your team can pick these up in any order.
Real audio, billing, and the legal pages each have a clear home in the codebase already, and the rest arrive as clean additions on top of a stable foundation, so the next team starts from solid ground.
